Come and race in the 'City Of Dreaming Spires'

INTRODUCTION

Welcome to the official website of the Oxford City Half Marathon.

The 2012 event will take place on Sunday 14 October from the Kassam Stadium.
This year stages a new and improved route, taking in the wonderful landmarks and “dreaming spires” of this beautiful city, including the Iffley Road area made famous by Sir Roger Bannister’s iconic breaking of the first 4-minute mile in May 1954, and the MINI Plant facility – home to production of the MINI and where the race passes through after the 2 mile marker.

James Bellwood from Crawley AC won the 2011 ‘pilot’ race in a personal best time of 71 minutes; with Great Britain Olympian Liz Yelling taking the ladies’ title in 74 minutes as part of her training for the 2012 London Olympics.

We are delighted that MINI Plant Oxford will again be the official Main Sponsor of the Oxford Half Marathon.
Also, BBC Radio Oxford will continue as the event’s exclusive broadcasting partner and will be presenting live coverage from 9AM on race day as well as continuous traffic and travel announcements from early morning on 95.2FM.

Brooks Sports continue as our official sports apparel sponsor of the event, and Helen & Douglas House are once again our official Charity Partner – an extremely worthy cause whose Oxford base provides the very best in hospice care for children and young adults.

New for 2012 all Race Finishers will receive a  unique Brooks Technical T-Shirt.
